I am afraid something has happened to my student? What can I do?
Sometimes students don’t communicate as frequently as parents think they should. Roommates don’t always pass on messages, and spur of the moment activities happen. But if you have reason for concern, you can contact the Dean of Students Office. We can check with housing staff, professors, roommates etc. to make sure your student can be accounted for, and encourage your student to call. If you feel it is an emergency, use one of the emergency contacts in the lower left window on this page.

My student has shared concerns about hazing and/or other potentially dangers behavior in a student organization. How can we report this?
If there is any immediate threat to student health/safety after hours, contact the Dean of Students through our on-call number at (404)894-2500. During normal business hours you or your student can contact the Greek Affairs Office, the Office of the Dean of Students, or the Office of Student Integrity. The more detailed the information provided, the better our chances of effectively confronting the behavior. You may also call (404)385-2291 and leave an anonymous report, however the message will not be received by a staff member of the Office of the Dean of Students until the next business day.

What if there is a family emergency?
The Dean of Students can assist you and your student in dealing with a family emergency. You can call the office at (404)894-6367 and let the person know this is an emergency - someone will be able to assist you immediately. If it is after hours, call (404)894-2500. For information on how we can assist your student, see click on Crisis Assistance.

My student has shared concerns about sexual harassment and/or sexual misconduct issues? How can we report this?
Sexual assault can be reported to the Georgia Tech Police, who have access to counseling, support, and other resources. Immediate resources are available from the Women’s Resource Center and the Sexual Assault Task Force. The Dean On Call should be paged. One of the Deans will mobilize resources to support the student, and help the student understand their options.
Read the Georgia Tech Policy on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct for more information.
