The Office of Greek Affairs is the coordinating point
for the 42 social Greek-letter organizations on campus.
Greek life is as old as the Institute itself, with the
first fraternity being founded in 1888 by Tech’s
founding president. The Office of Greek Affairs exists
to:
Serve as a resource for the 32 fraternities and
11 sororities on campus
Advise the three governing boards (Interfraternity
Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic
Council)
Advise the Order of Omega, a national leadership
society for scholarship, leadership on campus, and service
to the community
Advise the Greek Council, the umbrella organization
for Greek life on campus comprising the three governing
board presidents and Order of Omega president
Leadership development for governing board officers
and committee chairs as well as chapter officers and leaders
Assist students in planning Greek Week and the
Greek aspects of Homecoming
Assist students in planning speakers and other
educational topics on alcohol, hazing, gender differences,
and other issues
Provide resources for chapter leaders on officer
transition, diversity, membership recruitment, leadership,
community service, and other topics
