Find Out More About the Greek Community
The Office of Greek Affairs is the coordinating point for the 42 social Greek-letter organizations on campus. Greek life is as old as the Institute itself, with the first fraternity being founded in 1888 by Tech’s founding president. The Office of Greek Affairs exists to:
  • Serve as a resource for the 32 fraternities and 11 sororities on campus
  • Advise the three governing boards (Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic Council)
  • Advise the Order of Omega, a national leadership society for scholarship, leadership on campus, and service to the community
  • Advise the Greek Council, the umbrella organization for Greek life on campus comprising the three governing board presidents and Order of Omega president
  • Leadership development for governing board officers and committee chairs as well as chapter officers and leaders
  • Assist students in planning Greek Week and the Greek aspects of Homecoming
  • Assist students in planning speakers and other educational topics on alcohol, hazing, gender differences, and other issues
  • Provide resources for chapter leaders on officer transition, diversity, membership recruitment, leadership, community service, and other topics
