Funding Sources

SGA Bills
As a student organization you can submit a bill to SGA requesting funds for a particular event. SGA has asset amount of money that it can spend in one year and attempts to wisely spend that money on the organizations most in need of assistance and those that will benefit the campus. Buzz Funds
This money received from the profits of the Buzz Trademark. Every year, this money is equally divided between Auxiliary Services, the Alumni Association and the Athletic Association. Money from these funds are used annually for the Auxiliary Services/Student Center Scholarships, the Culture Breaks put on by international student organizations, and many other evens. Money from these funds usually goes toward projects that serve an educational purpose outside of academics.

Student Foundation Grants
The Student Foundation, out of the largest student-controlled endowment in the nation, funds new and innovative projects that seek to improve campus. Projects that seek to unite campus or foster leadership area a plus. A total of about $14,000 is awarded per year.

Corporate Sponsorship and Foundation Grants
There are several corporations and foundations willing to sponsor and/or donate specific items or funds. Local businesses near campus, or those companies that rely on student business are usually more responsive. However, before approaching any corporation or foundation, you should contact the Corporate Relations Department at 894-6888 or the Foundations Relations Department at 894-6894.

Corporate Liaison Student Boosters Program
This fund supports student academic organization activities through corporate memberships at the request of the corporations looking for opportunities to support student academic organizations that result in a partnership with students and corporation members.

Other Campus Sources
The Alumni Association, Athletic Association, and Administration often give money to projects that are worthwhile and could benefit a good deal of campus. In return, the only they usually ask for is recognition of their supports. Projects and events that seem to fill a void the campus has are received well.

Special Note
Requests should be made in the form of professionally written proposals. Academic departments giving money usually like to see their money spent on academic causes.
